Space War

This is probably the most polished game that I’ve gotten done so far. It’s a turn based single player game, you can play as a sorta god character in charge of a city on your planet, you are at war with another (weirdly similar looking) city on the planet opposite you.

You have to choose whether to be defensive or offensive and what to do with those options. You can fire a cannon ball (yes, this space city that uses cannons), a missile or a laser, raise the shields to different levels to deflect incoming fire or heal your city. You have 10 seconds to pick your options, then the auto player has 10 seconds, then the game makes your moves. First person to 0 health loses.

I finished the actual game a while ago, but I’ve been polishing the game up for a while now, after I managed to clean up the code. I recently added particle effects which really helps the game look better, fireworks fire if you win the game, which is fun and if your city or their city takes too much damage smoke starts to spew from it. I also added screen shake which makes the impacts feel cool, even though some people don’t like it
