This Broomwood Lodge Welcomes You.
First of all, our fraternity has a wonderful history, which was started 70 years ago in 1945. Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest secular fraternities of men concerned in upholding both moral and spiritual values. It is founded on the three great principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, aiming to bringing together men regardless of background and difference. Many would consider that to become a Freemason is probably both complex and mysterious but it really is quite straight forward. The only essential qualifications for you to be admitted is having a belief in a ‘Supreme Being’. I know, at this point you are wondering what this actually means… but we can explain more when you get in touch. It is common practise for candidates to be “mature men of 21 years and over”. Many members often invite friends, work colleagues and even relatives to consider joining. It is not a problem if you don’t know a member, simply go to the contacts page, provide some background information about yourself, and the reasons why you want to become a Freemason.
Upon receipt of your letter, we will make suitable arrangements to meet you socially so that you can find out more about us and to give us a chance to find out more about you. In due course, you could be invited to meet a committee of members from the Lodge, prior to being balloted for possible membership. If this is approved, a date would then be fixed for your admission.
Don’t be put off as by doing this you are not committing yourself to anything at this stage and we will contact you as soon as possible.
In the meantime we have detailed below a number of sections which will give you further insight into what Freemasonry is all about.
